Actually I think statistically most people on the intarwebs are Chinese by sheer number alone...
But I see your point, but that doesn't mean all people of this ethnic group only like one genre over the other. Music tends to cross all barriers of culture, race or creed.
Honestly, I don't mean to rip on Hip Hop... or Pop... or Rap... or even Country but those are types of music I cannot stand. I think it has more to do with the style than anything else since I've heard some R&B or Rap songs covered by Rock bands and I really like it... but I find I like HOW they play it more so than the song itself since it seems so weird sometimes.
Examples:
(A cover of "Pony" from Ginuwine)
(A cover of "Lollipop" from Lil Wayne)
Also, I tend to identify more with Metal, Rock because of the song itself and not just the beat. Lyrics, IMO, play a HUGE role for me when I determine how much I like a song. Is it right for me to blanket judge a whole genre of music then? No... but sadly I have not come across many songs from the genres' I stated which I could care less for that have struck me as good or fantastic. Am I actively searching them out? No... but I am open to suggestions.
